| In depth understanding of Risk Based Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) techniques for large scale projects and contaminated sites, including the science of development of screening criteria for hazardous contaminants, with special emphasis on oil and gas industry operation impacts. | => Working as an environmental consultant with Hagler Bailly Pakistan between January 2003 and August 2005, where I; Developed and implemented appropriate screening criteria for environmental contaminants related to oil industry operations for risk assessments at Shell operational/retail sites. Carried out and overlooked data analysis and risk assessment for more than forty Shell operational/retail sites spread around the country. Partook in the EIA of seismic survey, flowline laying and well drilling activities in Kadanwari Gas Field, southern Pakistan. Partook in the EIA and feasibility study of an Asian Development Bank funded Combined Effluent Treatment Plant project to be located near urban coast in Indus delta creek system, with special emphasis on the coastal mangrove ecology of the area. Performed the initial environmental examination of an exploratory offshore gas drilling project to be executed near Pasni coast in Gwadar, Pakistan.
=> Carrying out an exercise in the application of Integrated Coastal Zone Management tools to the development of Karachi coast as part of my undergraduate studies; this study was later condensed into a situation analysis report for Asian Development Bank by my project adviser Prof. Saeed Ahmed Khan.
